A dynamic, award-winning commercial landscape company is looking for a results-driven Branch Manager passionate about leading people, growing a business, and achieving aggressive goals. 

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading the branch to achieve overall success and efficient day-to-day operations. This role requires a focus on key performance metrics, including safety, quality, productivity, growth, and profitability. The Branch Manager will manage the financial aspects of the branch, develop and implement strategic sales plans, and oversee customer relationship management and labor efficiency.

Operation:  

  • Monitor and lead the branch team to achieve company goals and ensure employee satisfaction.
  • Manage all direct reports, including business development, to effectively use labor, resources, and equipment for organized and profitable operations and contract management.
  • Develop and manage strategic and tactical plans for each direct report with accurately projected profits and costs, along with projected use of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to achieve new contract maintenance sales goals.
  • Support Client Managers and Sales Team in achieving enhancement pipelines and sales targets.
  • Work with the Client Relationship Managers (CRM) team to achieve renewal and retention goals.
  • Improve and further develop existing customer relationships to address additional needs.
  • Develop strategies and best practices for successful procurement of contracts, starting with a successful bid process that includes compliance with specifications and appropriate cost allocation.
  • Manage contract performance and customer satisfaction while ensuring operating profits.
  • Analyze, understand, and stay ahead of the market, including unmet customer needs, pricing, and competitors.
  • Oversee daily production in landscape maintenance, enhancements, turf, ornamental applications, irrigation, and snow removal.
  • Develop and oversee production planning and scheduling.
  • Determine monthly staffing levels based on operational needs.
  • Ensure jobs are completed according to contracts and within budget.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and productivity consistently.
  • Utilize and train for best practices, including creating safe and efficient work environments, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, and managing claims for personnel and equipment.
  • Meet or exceed established goals by successfully developing and growing the business.
  • Optimize purchasing, use, and maintenance of equipment, inventory, and materials, as well as labor.
  • Improve performance using key performance metrics, meaningful reports, accounting, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Administer preventive maintenance programs and manage equipment repair and replacement.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates and management of the Aspire system

Leadership:  

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and ensure that all new staff members are trained and great ambassadors for the brand.
  • Provide direct supervision of Client Relations Managers and oversee all customer accounts.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and operations of the department.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Manage employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
  • Demonstrate and uphold company fundamentals and culture.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Lead and mentor branch team members to align company goals with employee satisfaction.
  • Manage, train, and mentor for best practices to motivate and maximize the performance of every person on your team.
  • Share a passion for accountability, performance, customer service, and continuously improving the work environment.
  • Create and maintain a training/learning/mentoring curriculum that encourages greater performance and desire to advance within the organization.
  • Communicate and promote the company’s goals, culture, and the value of a workforce.
  • Manage key client relationships alongside Client Relationship Managers and Production Managers.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to achieve new contract maintenance sales goals.
  • Support Client Relationship Managers and Sales Team in achieving enhancement pipelines and sales targets.
  • Work with the CRM team to achieve renewal and retention goals.
  • Oversee safety protocols, training, and DOT compliance.
  • Communicate with Human Resources regarding corrective and disciplinary actions, staffing needs, and training requirements.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and compensation reviews in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Financial:  

  • Oversee every financial aspect, including revenue, profitability, costs, budgets, labor, equipment, materials, and performance metrics, to ensure successful operations.
  • Implement best practices for financial management and produce meaningful reports that improve and optimize processes and effective use of resources, technology, assets, and performance.
  • Control budget for hours and productivity of production personnel.
  • Manage departmental expenses within budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to establish and maintain the branch’s annual budget.
  • Monitor monthly financial performance and provide reports to the Executive Team.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Team on equipment purchasing and setup.
  • Ensure jobs are completed according to contracts and within budget.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful landscape maintenance and commercial leadership as a Branch Manager or with a track record of successful results.  
  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience in the green industry including horticulture, landscape, agriculture or related field preferred.
  • Manage a high-performance team that achieves maximum contribution and will advance within the company.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent travel within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to talk, hear, see, sit, stand, and walk consistently.
  • Good close and distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent use of hands for manipulation of objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb, and balance frequently.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work with mechanical objects and outdoors in varying weather conditions occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels occasionally.
